I thought I would review this wine despite it not being a favorite of mine. When I first tasted it, I thought the nose was a bit strong with ”petrol.” I mentioned this to Dear so he said, “Try a different glass.” So, I did to give it another chance. However, it was the same. I gave it a while to sit after spinning it a bit to see if getting some air into it might help. It didn’t.
Purchased at Costco for $9.99. The sign above the crate indicated a great score (an 89 if I recall correctly) from Wine Spectator. (I would have to disagree).Instead of sharing only my negative view, here is another review. Try it for yourself and see what you think!

Rating: TWO AND A HALF STARS
2005 Santa Rita Reserva Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($11)
A silky, perfumed 100 percent Cab fermented in American oak. A simpler wine than the Medalla Real above, and more direct, but balanced. At just $11 a bottle, it’s worth getting a case of this likable wine.
