If you checked out my last post, you know that I am “Cookie Mom” for my daughter’s Brownie troop.  We picked up cookies today for the whole troop with the assistance of the troop leader (thank goodness!).  I filled my SUV with cases and cases of Thin Mints, Thanks-a-lots, Lemonades, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, and the like.  However, I ran out of room!  We had to put cases in a second car.  After loading a total of 123 cases in our cars, we had to unload them and… reload them – into my house!  It’s starting to feel like we live in a cookie warehouse.

If you are not (or haven’t been) involved in Girl Scout cookie sales, you have no idea how much work volunteers put into the whole process.  In case you are not a person who usually buys Girl Scout cookies, please reconsider.  The money each troop makes from the cookie sale is put toward fun and educational activities for the girls.  Aggie’s troop discussed a trip to Sea World – if they meet their goal.  Also, if you are someone who doesn’t buy cookies because you are on a diet (thanks, perhaps, to a New Years resolution), consider donating money so that a few boxes of cookies can be sent to our guys and girls in the military serving our country!  Last year, over 11, 000 boxes of cookies were shipped to our “troops” overseas.  There is another option for you too – you might want to consider a box of the new Cinna-spins -they are packaged in 100-calorie packs and they are quite tasty.

So, when you hear that knock on your door, be a good sport – and buy a few boxes!
