I have always adored Tim Gunn. For those of you who don’t know Tim, I first became aware of him as the fashion mentor on Bravo’s Project Runway. I enjoyed his well-known phrases such as “Make it work” and “Carry on.” He is a no-nonsense, serious, direct person but — he has heart. This shines through in his new show, Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style. I just watched the first episode and I love it. I cried as I watched the end of it (of course) but, thank goodness, so did Tim, Veronica Webb (the supermodel co-host), and everyone else in the room during the fashion show. I think what makes this show so great is that the person they have chosen for a makeover is a real person – a likeable person with real insecurities and emotions. By the end of the show, the made-over person (in this case, Rebecca) presents with a newly found confidence and a renewed outlook on who she is. I must say, I could use a good fashion makeover and I especially feel this way after watching this show. I love a good makeover story, don’t you? Check it out next week.
